After more than 2.800 hours of dedication and during eighteen months of work, the first two people credited with titling, received their diplomas last May 30. The private act took place in the meeting room called Simon Bolivar in Casa de América (Madrid). Relevant people in the sector of the Facility Management, from customers and suppliers, students, teachers and advisers of the training programme were present.
Dedication of time and resources to the Facility Management specific training will provide to the professionals of this sector capacities and skills to achieve the recognition they deserve within organizations, and they will offer them better models and ways to treat this key aspect for the correct functioning of companies. Online education allows you to reach those who have been deprived of this kind of training so far.
The event was opened by David Martínez, FMHOUSE General Director, who stressed “the importance of professionalizing the discipline and providing a good knowledge to professionals of the sector”. Cristina Vázquez, FMHOUSE Institute Director, and Sergio Vega, programs director at FM of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and member FMHOUSE Institute Academic Council, were also on the table.
Martínez said that the demand of the sector was the origin of these online programs, because only the presence-based modality training wasn’t able to face the demands of the market, especially in the Spanish American speaking countries. The second speaker was Cristina Vázquez, who provided relevant data on the growth of these programs, since the start of the FM International Master up to the sixty people who are currently within some of the programs, in eight different countries. Vega stepped to report that the face-to-face master of the UPM is still open, although its online version will be launched soon in collaboration with the FMHOUSE Institute.
FMHOUSE director, also said that the new partnership agreements have been created to “continue working on the development of Facility Management in Spain and Latin America; we have been developing for quite a few years this work to help to build partnerships and to educate their professionals.
The titles were picked up by Fernando Peralta, General Services Manager & Real Estate in Thales and Rafael Dantas, Manager and the responsible for the Area of Iberdrola in Spain. Both emphasized that the program is “hard” and “demanding”, but also the “high” quality of content, orientation to the discipline in each of its aspects and the support received by the members of the FMHOUSE Institute team.
